Wow! I'll never stop loving @conemumaximus5! Seriously! — Alireza Noori (@alireza_noori) January 9, 2013 If you're like me, you just love command line stuff by default! What's not to love about them? You start the command prompt, type a few words and bam, you get what you want. If not, here are a few reasons for you to love them: Sometimes some features/settings in the operating system or some programs are just available via command line. Not all of the features will have their GUI. If you’re good at it, it’s just super fast! You can’t compete me with a mouse for a lot of things. You can automate things. This is the most beautiful property of command lining. You can write scripts to do a lot of jobs and scheduling them. They can do your job without you being there. Isn’t...

That’s right, 2 passwords. Ready why at the end of the post. First of all, let me just say that, my memory is good. I am, and I always have been, good at remembering stuff. Specially passwords. But that doesn’t mean I have had the best password set for all my accounts. Let me explain more. For years, I’ve had a good password for my important accounts (such as emails, etc.) and remembered them. But I have numerous amount of accounts for a lot of websites (forums, etc.) So, I had to use the same account for normal, not-that-important accounts and used it for all of them. The downside was that if somebody knew one of these accounts, he/she could’ve easily guessed got into any other account of mine. I didn’t care that much about loosing those account but at the end of the day, they were...

It’s a few days that Microsoft has introduced their redesigned, renamed email service Outlook. If you have followed my posts previously, you know that I have posted about the new Metro design of the email service as well as a comparison between this service and Gmail. I have mentioned a change of the name, however, I said it’s going to be New Mail while eventually it turned out to be Outlook! First, if you haven’t already, go to Outlook.com and login with your login ID (or sign up for a new one). It’s free and it has lots of benefits. As far as the functionality, my previous post would be enough because all of the previous functionalities of the Hotmail are available in Outlook. Not much changed here. So, we’re going to talk about the new Metro design. The new design in absolutely...

I use Hotmail. I love it and I don’t think that I’ll be moving out soon. However, there are a few areas which I think each one of these are stronger. Today, I filled out a feedback form for the Hotmail team and I decided to share my view with you. This is not a very sophisticated comparison; however, it points out each area in which each of these services is stronger. Hotmail Reliability I have had dozens of failed emails with Gmail. Even if everything was correct. The annoying thing is that it says it has been sent and some time later you come back and get the notification which lets you know it hasn’t! I hate it. I had about 2 to 3 failed emails in the course of the 8 years I’m using Hotmail. Sweep I love sweep feature of Hotmail. It enables you to move/delete any email from any sender...

Last week, after a lot of thought, I was ready to completely move to Windows 8 release preview. I did the same for Windows 7. I was happy with the RC, and it took 2 weeks for me to install a clean version of release version over the RC! As you may know, I use my PC in a dark environment. Recently I decided to set my blog theme to a dark one. This helps to decrease strain on my eyes. Below is a screenshot of my Windows Explorer in Windows 7 PC. This was the only reason keeping me back from fully jumping in Windows 8. Finally, I figured I’d change the settings in the “Advanced Color and Appearance Settings” window and since a lot of applications use these settings, I’ll be find. At worst I’d use a 3rd party app instead of Windows Explorer. So I created my bootable flash disk and started to...
